Perfect Starter Save (Deluxe Edition) + Modding Racket Earn (Cheat Engine)

This will only work for you if:

(1) You have all DLC:

  • Season Pass
  • Faster, Baby!
  • Sign of the Times.
  • Stones Unturned.
  • Family Kick-Back Pack.
  • Judge, Jury & Executioner Weapons Pack

(2) Your game version is 1.090.0. I am not sure if this save file is compatible with game version 1.090.1 or even newer ones (as far as I know, 1.090.0 and 1.090.1 are the latest versions of the game as of this date of February 2019 where I published this save file) so if you will use this save, backup your saves first. You have been warned.

  • Current mission in this save is "That's The Plan, Padre", which is the mission that you get directly after getting your stuff back at Sammy's upon waking up from recovery (meaning, I haven't went to Donovan yet to start that mission). This save basically just skips the prologue.
  • All Collectibles (except the ones in Burke's, Vito's, and the Northern most part of the map because there's no way to get them at the start of the game) & All TL-49 Fuses (except the ones in Sinclair Parish since it is inaccessible until you start "Faster, Baby!") collected.
  • All the scattered money within all enemy rackets/establishments/outposts/standby areas in the whole game that can be accessed at the start of the game (meaning, I didn't get the ones within places exclusively accessible only through a mission or missions simply because I can't) collected (this doesn't affect gameplay in any way so don't worry. I tested it myself; everything works as it should in the same way even without collecting all that scattered money). Take the time to still look around in these places though for the readable notes (where you have to press and hold E/X/Square (depending on what you're using as either keyboard or controller to play the game) to read these notes that are scattered throughout the game. You can easily spot these readable notes by using Intel View since it lets you see things even through walls. Use Intel View while you're inside and/or extremely near the building since they will highlight where the readable notes are during gameplay :)
  • Money (Wallet) = $9,999,999, Money (Safe) = $479,999,952, TL-49 Fuses = 9999
  • The current weapons that you are carrying are the Micro SMG and a Long-Scoped Sniper Rifle. I found these two weapons to be the most useful in any combat situation (at least, at the start of the game). You can change the weapons to the ones you think is the best for your play style once you unlock the Arms Dealer, where you can buy weapons and items from as well as the weapons you will unlock later on as you progress through the game. You're also fully stocked with Molotovs and Grenades.
  • You're fully stocked with Medkits and wearing your battle-ready Tac-Vest or Armor in 100% condition.

If you guys want to view the pictures I uploaded for this mod more clearly (since most of them looks small and hard to see, especially if you're trying to see the numbers of the money and the Underbosses' Current Earns and any numbers in general, not to mention Mafia Mods lacking the option to zoom in to the pictures), just right-click on any of them and select "Save image as..." to download the image and see it for yourself. All the pictures (except the Mafia III Deluxe Edition picture) all came from my own copy of the game so there's no deception here or anything like that :)

*****Installation (Perfect Starter Save Only)*****

  1. Download Perfect Starter Save file.
  2. Extract anywhere the rar file using any extractor tool if your choice. You will now see folder named "2k Games".
  3. Open the extracted 2k Games folder and go to Mafia III/Data/gamesaves/default/aslot
  4. Copy save0.sav, save1.sav, save2.sav and paste them into your own Mafia III save directory (which is usually in C:/Users/[Desktop Name]/AppData/Local/2K Games/Mafia III/Data/gamesaves/default/aslot).
  5. Done! :)

*****Installation (Modding Racket Earn For ALL Underbosses)*****

PART I - Installing Cheat Engine and running it with Mafia III (skip this entire Part I and automatically move to Part II if you already have Cheat Engine installed AND you know how to run Cheat Engine with any game)

  1. If you haven't already, download and install Cheat Engine. Download it by clicking the huge green button on top of the webpage of this link -
  2. Next, download the "mafia3.CT" file as uploaded by linspatz (scroll down to the bottom-most part of the webpage) -
  3. Run Cheat Engine as administrator.
  4. Look at the upper left corner of the Cheat Engine pop-up window and you'll see the option "File". Click on it and select "Load".
  5. Upon clicking "Load", another pop-up windows appears, asking you to open a Cheat Table (.CT) file. Remember the "mafia3.CT" file you downloaded? Find it and double-click on it.
  6. Once successful, you will now see a list of options of cheats for the game on the bottom part of the Cheat Engine user interface.
  7.  It is now time to run Mafia III. Run it as administrator.
  8. While in-game, make sure you check your settings in the Pause Menu/Options/Display and set Fullscreen to "On".
  9. Go back in-game. Without pausing the game, press Left Alt first then Tab quickly (Alt + Tab basically).
  10. Going back to Cheat Engine, click "File" again then click "Open Process". Select MafiaIII from the pop-up window and choose "Yes" if there's a pop-up window that asks you to keep the current address.

PART II - Using Cheat Engine to Mod The Racket Earns Of All Your Underbosses

  1. IMPORTANT STEP - Go back to the game/run Mafia III and play it until you COMPLETELY take over Delray Hollow district (for Cassandra). Modding the racket earns in Delray Hollow will be used as an example in demonstrating this entire process of modding racket earns of any rackets you took over/will take over in general. The same exact process will be followed once you COMPLETELY take over River Row district (for Vito) and Pointe Verdun district (for Burke).

1A - How will you know you've COMPLETELY taken over a district?  You'll know you already have when:

  • You have already killed the main boss for that district (for example, the main boss for Delray Hollow is Ritchie Doucet.) AND
  • Met your underboss's (in this case, Cassandra's) second-in-command (for this case, it's Emmanuel) and done ALL delivery missions.

1B - Make sure you have done these first. Same applies to Vito in River Row and Burke in Pointe Verdun as you help them take over those respective areas.

2. Once step 1 is done, pause the game, look at your map, and move your pointer to a racket you took over and click on it so that it would activate as an objective. Since taking over Delray Hollow will be the first area you need to take over in the game, I'll be using it as an example in explaining the process. Move your map pointer to either Perla's or the Church where Emmanuel is and click on either one of them in the same way you activate a story mission objective so that the game generates and places a 3D marker in-game to guide you how to get there.

3. You see the money displayed as "Earn: 50000/50000" in that racket (assuming you successfully finished the two (2) delivery missions that gets you to have max earn in both Cassandra's rackets which results to the earn of 50000/50000 for BOTH rackets)? Memorize that number. In this case, memorize 50000. Focus on the NUMERATOR of the fraction of your racket earn; that's the number you need to memorize. So if your racket earn is like in my case where I have a racket earn of 44000/60000 in the Car Theft Racket at Tickfaw Harbor once I took it over and assigned the district to a underboss, then memorize 44000. It's always the NUMERATOR of the fraction of your racket earn that you need to memorize and therefore need to change.

4. Upon memorizing the number, Alt + Tab the game to minimize it and go back to Cheat Engine and type down the number (no comas between zeros or other numbers) in the "Value" box on the upper-right side of the Cheat Engine user interface. Change the Value Type to "Float". Upon doing both of these, click "First Scan".

5. Upon clicking "First Scan", you will now see a list of values to the left of the "Value" box where you typed down your Underboss's earn for that racket (which was 50000).

6. Click on one row of values. You'll know when you did when that row of values becomes covered and highlighted in blue (but the values are still visible of course). While the row of values you clicked on remains highlighted,  press Left Shift + End. This highlights all the rows of values from top to bottom.

7. Right-click anywhere within all the selected rows of values highlighted in blue and select "Change value of selected addresses" and change them to any value you desire. To be safe so that the game won't break or something, stick with values within the double-digit millions range. Specifically, do NOT go any higher than 99,999,999. In my case, I changed all the values highlighted in blue to 5000000 (see pictures).

8. YOU'RE NOT YET DONE SO DON'T CLOSE CHEAT ENGINE. After making the changes to your Underboss's earn for that racket, go back to Mafia III. You won't see the changes take effect immediately and work correctly in the game just yet, but you will see your Underboss's Current Earn value change by unpausing the game and pausing it again and going back to Assets>Cassandra/Vito/Burke Profile>Rackets & Intel.

9. Go back to Mafia III gameplay and move around for a while or do something that will trigger the autosave feature of the game (you'll know it autosaved when you see the Mafia III loading icon appear in the upper-right corner of your screen while playing). This is important so that the changes to your Underboss's Current Earn will be saved.

10. Once it's saved, exit the game via pausing the game and going to "Game" and choose Exit Game. Exit the game this way so that the game will save your progress once more, just to be sure.

11. Open your Mafia III again and viola! You've just unlocked all the upgrades in the upgrade path of your Underboss. Repeat steps 1 - 11 once you meet and help Vito and Burke take over their respective areas.

12. DONE!

  1. luthite says:

Just got the Definitve Edition via Epic. First rushed through Part I and II.
Then started Part III. I don´t know, how far in the game I am, but made a lot of missions till know, last one was “rescue Alvarez”

The problem is, yesterday evening, the launcher says something like “your game was updatet” and I launched maybe a 100times before that without that message.

After that, it told me, that my save game is from a “higher version”, witch had all dlc´s installed (which is BS, because they´re all included in the DE)
But, I cannot get the game to load them anymore, it just will let me start a new one, which is working, but that makes no sense.

I already reinstalled the game and directly turned the Updates Option off, but that is making no difference.

Do you got any Idea, how to fix that ? Maybe with another .exe file ?

Would be so glad, if you could help me out of that s…

    best regards,
