Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Additional Music Pack (20+ Music Tracks!)

Yo, it's me, J-Man, back again with another music pack. People seem to really like the Dokkan music pack I released a few weeks ago. I really appreciate the support I've been getting, and I definitely plan to keep this music train rolling for a while. This new music pack in particular I thought would be good to release as a nice little quickie, since the track count is fairly small in comparison to other Dragon Ball game soundtracks, wouldn't take nearly as long to work on as my last one, and is also a soundtrack I have some attachment to.

It's the complete soundtrack from none other than Budokai Tenkaichi 3, ripped directly from the original game and added as extra music options to Xenoverse! Also includes the full vocal and instrumental versions of the absolute banger opening theme, Super Survivor. Unlike with the Dokkan pack, I didn't really have to tinker with the volume of most of these tracks, since they were much closer in volume to Xenoverse's music. Also unlike Dokkan, these music tracks weren't originally made with seamless looping in mind. They have clearly defined endings and in Tenkaichi 3, they straight-up just play out, end, fade out and then repeat from the very beginning over and over, so in order to preserve these tracks in their entireties and also not make things super awkward when the music ends, I had to get a bit creative with the looping here too. I included a random option here as well, for when you're in a BT3 music mood but just can't decide what to listen to lol. On top of all that, there will be two options within the installer, allowing you to either install every single track all at once, or just choose some specific ones you'd like out of the entire list.

Tenkaichi 3 is very beloved when it comes to Dragon Ball games, but it's soundtrack is one that I honestly think gets slept on a bit. There's a lot of good stuff here in my opinion, stuff that's stuck with me through many, many years. Hopefully I did it a tiny bit of justice, and that you guys enjoy this mod!

Some quick, important notes/precautions before installing

  1. The audio cue editor's randomizing feature is a bit quirky. Sometimes, instead of picking a random song to play, the game will just choose to play nothing at all. If this ever happens to you, just go into the pause menu, and into your music options, then keep pressing the "Replay BGM" input until you start to hear music. Re-select the random option from there and the issue should be alleviated.
  2. There is a bit of a cap to how many extra, modded music tracks you can install before the game starts kinda saying no to them. The installer will still tell you the music installed successfully, the tracks will show up as selectable options in-game, and can even be listened to with the "Replay BGM" input in the selection menu, but if you try to select any music track in-game that goes past a limit of 200+ (you may be able to get away with slightly more, but this is the general range I've observed) additional, modded music cues, the game will automatically choose to play one of the vanilla game's tracks instead, so basically, you can't actually play the game with that music. If this sounds like something that just so happens to be happening to you after installing and trying out one of my mods, keep that in mind if you have multiple music installer packs (like my other ones) installed at a time.

My Discord's always open for concerns, questions, feedback, suggestions, or just general chatting, so don't be scared to hit me up if you want to: J-Man#9078

I want to also note here that my DMs are open for anybody. You don't have to send me a friend request to drop a message. I say this because I do tend to get a lot of fairly random friend requests and I would much prefer it if you sent me a message before/along with a friend request since a lot of the time I'm not really 100% sure if I want to accept random friend requests without knowing for sure the context of them. Thanks. :)

Download the .rar file from the MEGA page, then run the mod installer (double click the .exe file while the .installinfo file is in the same file location) from within it. From there, choose from the two options given to either install every single track all at once, or choose specific ones from the selection. If you choose the latter, select the music tracks you'd like to install, and you're set!

1.0: Release.

1.1: Lol I actually made a change to this. I changed Super Survivor to use the version of the song from it's official album as opposed to the in-game version, because it sounds better, and it's also a tiny bit louder now because I think this song deserves to be loud. This album version change is only for the vocal version of the track, since the proper instrumental version of the song never got released in an album, only a karaoke version that removes instruments from the instrumental version. I did make the instrumental version a little louder to match the vocal version's new volume though, so yeah, that's the update.

1.2: Installer has been reworked to where you have options between installing every single track all at once (just like before), or picking and choosing specific tracks you’d like in your game the most.

I've also taken the time to include one extra track, Finish 'em Off. It's an official version of Super Survivor with entirely English vocals and wildly different lyrics (so different they had to change the name of the song lmao) from the original song (still a banger nonetheless though). It was only released in a single album, never used in-game (since US versions of BT3 just used an instrumental version of the song instead) or anything like that. It pretty much just exists exclusively as a weird but neat little oddity in DB history, so I thought it'd be cool to include it here.

Ran the exe and went fine. Said installation was successful but the music tracks aren’t anywhere in the game. I even tried re-installing. Was something broken in an update maybe?

    1. J-Man9078 says:

The pack still functions perfectly fine on my end so really I have no clue what the issue could be.

      1. Gregg11 says:

I think it’s installed correctly. I’ve tried re-installing the game, I’ve looked in the game files and it seems the mod files are installed successfully in the Data folder including the xml file in LB Mod Installer and the ACB and AWB files in the BGM folder called CAR_BGM is all correct. Is there anything else I can try? Do I need to install it directly from the zip file it was downloaded in or put the two installers in the DB Xenoverse 2 folder and then install it?

  2. NahuelSoto21 says:

how to install this, i select game xenoverse 2 and get installing error

  3. Boubenks says:

INCREDIBLE I hope u will add some db raging blast song !!

  4. HEAVENLY says:

OH MY GOD YES I LOVE YOU FOR THIS

  5. Wesadfsas says:

So how can we make it so that we can add music to xenoverse 2 when it comes to mods instead of replacing music?

  6. Love the random feature you added! I hope you add it to your Dokkan mod as well.

    1. J-Man9078 says:

Sadly enough, I was working on a randomizer for the Dokkan pack just now and I realized that I don’t think a random option is possible for it specifically after running into some issues. I had somebody else suggest the same thing in the comments for that mod and I explained why there if you’re curious.

      1. Ah I see then, In case that maybe you could do music packs for the other DBZ games? Like Budokai 1, 2, 3, Infinite World and maybe even Dragon Ball Z Sagas.

        1. J-Man9078 says:

I definitely have more packs like that planned, so be on the lookout for those. 👍
