Proud Mode
Logo by PotatoHedgehog. This mod is compatible with the No Grind mod.
Proud Mode version 1.3.1 (with Optional Music Mod).
A full list of changes is explained in the video.
General changes
- Enemies have increased AI, stats, and better moves. Ally AI and stats have also been increased. Leveling is slightly harder for the first 20 levels.
- Costumes and skills have a 100% drop rate.
- Maxed out nearly all time limits. Any parallel quest that used the time limit to trigger the ultimate finish will now do so if the player never drops below 10% health.
- Set it so the Ultimate Finish in Parallel Quests always activates if conditions are met rather than randomly activating if the conditions are met.
- Optional music mod includes music from Dragon Ball Kai, Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and remixes of these series from Android Orchestra, Styzmask, and PokéMixr92 among others.
- Added the All In system to Story Mode. If you drop below 25% health (50% for Majins), special attributes will be applied to your character depending on their race. If you survive, you'll receive double experience and Zeni.
Known bugs & solutions
- Bugs can be diminished by only using Proud Mode on version 1.20.01 of the game and version 4.0.0 of the patcher. Other versions will cause more glitches.
- Infinite loading screen - If you have infinite loading when entering the Time Nest, delete Data/Quest/TPQ/tpq_data.qxd.
- Trunks isn't in the Time Nest - Sometimes this occurs after Story Mission 24: Out of my Way! - Life or Death Battle. Use a save file editor to set Story Mission 25 Buu's Snack! Super Buu Attacks to locked.
- All PQs (except those gained by talking to someone in Conton City) are unlocked from the start.
- Story Mission 17: Strategic Uncertainty - The Android Cell, when Cell is knocking out Piccolo, he'll miss his ult if pushed by the player. If the mission doesn't continue after 10 seconds, you'll need to restart. This can be avoided by not attacking Cell when you see him teleport.
Installation: Make a back up of your Data folder before extracting the file straight to the game directory.
Uninstallation: Restore the copy you made of your Data folder or delete the Quest and System folders in your Data folder. If you installed the Optional Music Mod, also delete the Sound folder.
Final Version - Hardmode, Optional All In system, & Bug Fixes (June 12, 2023)
Added a version of Proud Mode without the All In system.
Added Hard Mode as an alternative to Proud Mode (no optional music mod). NPCs will have their AI increased and have an improved moveset, but they will not have changes to their core stats (level, health, % damage dealt, % damage taken, & speed) nor does the All In system apply here. No changes have been made to the scripts (no additional health regeneration, no changes to when certain cutscenes or dialogues play, etc.). The time limits & item/skill drop rate on Parallel Quests are their vanilla amounts. Hardmode is a separate folder in the Proud Mode (no optional music mod) zip file. It will replace the same files as Proud Mode. There will be no optional music mod version.
Version 1.3.0 - Legends Patrol & Compatibility Patch (April 29, 2023)
Compatibility patch for DBXV2 version 1.19.01 & XV2Patcher version 3.91. Bugs will occur with out of date versions.
Made changes to how the All In system affects the player’s damage dealt/taken. Instead of directly changing the player’s stats, enemies will now have their stats changed. For example, Majins fighting Nappa in the second Story Mission no longer have their defense increased from 100% to 125%. Instead, Nappa’s damage decreases from 100% to 75%. Ultimately the effects should be the same, but this will prevent the mod from having issues with other mods or Super Souls that affect the player’s stats.
The All In system no longer prevents players from using items when it activates.
Decreased Broly’s damage dealt in Story Mission 25 from 200% to 100%.
Fixed the bug where Zamasu’s health didn’t regenerate in Story Mission 46.
Extended Proud Mode to Legends Patrol. Note that Proud Mode does not provide the necessary files to add Legends Patrol to your game. It only modifies them if they’re present.
Version 1.2.1 - Infinite History & All In System (November 6, 2021)
Removed the custom installer. It was causing more problems than it was fixing.
Removed the Do or Die system. Replaced it with the All In system.
All In system:
Majins: When dropped below 50% health, take damage equal to 15% max health immediately and then take 25% less damage for the rest of the mission. Items will be locked and experience points & zeni will be doubled.
Saiyans: When dropped below 25% health, the player deals 25% increased damage with basic melee attacks and Strike moves but takes 25% increased damage. Items will be locked and experience points & zeni will be doubled.
Humans: When dropped below 25% health, ki restoration rate increases by 15 but the player takes 25% increased damage. Items will be locked and experience points & zeni will be doubled.
Namekians: When dropped below 25% health, health regeneration is set to 2.5 but the player takes 25% increased damage. Items will be locked and experience points & zeni will be doubled.
Frieza Race: When dropped below 25% health, the player deals 25% increased damage with basic ki attacks and Ki moves but takes 25% increased damage. Items will be locked and experience points & zeni will be doubled.
Story Mission 1: Make Way, Rookie Time Patroller Here!
Did not apply the All In system for this mission.
Made it so that the player takes less damage the less health they have. At 95% health, you take 95% damage. At 50% health, you take 50% damage. This continues all the way down to 5% health and 5% damage taken.
Story Mission 10: It's Goku! - Nefarious Plans Afoot
Increased the health cap for Jeice and Burter from 1% to 50%.
Set it so Jeice and Burter enter villainous mode upon reaching 57% health rather than 40%.
Set it so that the dialogue needs to finish before the final cutscene plays.
Story Mission 30: The Pudding Problem - Beerus’ Fury
Whis damage dealt decreased from 1,000% to 500%.
Beerus damage taken increased from 2.5% to 10%.
Story Mission 34: Time to Train! - Whis’ Whimsy
Beerus damage dealt decreased from 1,000% to 500%.
Whis damage taken increased from 2.5% to 10%.
Super Class Advancement Test
Beerus damage taken increased from 2.5% to 10%.

Parallel Quests
- Increased the learn rate of all skills to 100%.
- Buffed the allies you bring from character select. Damage taken decreased from 100% to 50% and AI increased from low to moderate.
- Buffed the player’s teacher. Damage dealt increased from 100% to 150%. Damage taken decreased from 100% to 30%.
- Buffed allies that are part of the quest. Their damage dealt/taken has been increased/decreased and their AI has been increased from low to moderate. This includes PQ #1 (Being a Time Patroller, Krillin), #2 (A Deal?! The Saiyan Brothers, Krillin), #5 (Saiyan Blood, Radditz), etc… This does not apply to the following Parallel Quests:#24. Super Saiyan Legend. This is to aid in getting the ultimate finish.#30. Challenger Hercule. I’ve set Hercule’s AI to run away so he doesn’t get hurt.#83. Dangerous Duo! Warriors Never Rest. The enemy AI messes up on this quest so I’m assuming the ally AI will, too.
- Made it so only special characters had a health of 8,000 in Parallel Quests. These include fusions (not Gotenks) and unique transformations such as Ultra Instinct Goku or Broly (DBS). All other characters had their health reduced to 7,000.

- Fixed the mistake where revived Mira had a normal health value in Parallel Quest 97.
- Reduced the health of the Metal Cooler gang from 7,000 to a more reasonable 4,000 in Parallel Quest 99.
Time Rifts
- Decreased the amount of experience gained from Guru house missions from double/quadruple to normal/double experience for normal finish/ultimate finish, respectively.
- Increased damage taken by all enemies in Guru and Hercule's house missions to 100% at minimum.
- Noticed that some AI in Guru's house missions simply chased the character rather than fighting. Their AI have been changed.

- Fixed the bug where Jaco and Videl took 800% damage in the final Saiyaman quest.

Version 1.1.2 - DLC Story Bug Fix (December 21, 2020)
Fixed a bug where DLC story mode had characters switched around despite not being modded. Use the contents of the Debug folder if the problem persists.
Version 1.1.1 - Balances & Bug fixes (December 3, 2020)
Time Rift
- Increased damage dealt by all allies across all Time Rifts.
Music
- More music level adjustments.
Bug fixes
- Added a Debug folder. Drag and drop its contents into your DBXV2 folder if players are replaced with other players in certain missions.
- Fixed the bug where Yamcha kept dodging every attack thrown at him.
Version 1.1.0 - Balances (Nov. 21, 2020)
Story Mode
- Characters that have a transformation (Kaioken or Super Saiyan only) now have instructions to transform at the start of the mission or when they join the battle.
- Changed the third event of the Do or Die system. The player will now take 25% additional damage as well as have their max stamina set to 2 bars.
- Changed how the game applies the Do or Die system. The ultimate finish should now trigger more reliably & missions will load slightly faster.
- Increased the damage dealt by all allies (doesn't include Story Mission 5).
- In Story Mission 3 - Turles, the Other Saiyan, the flag which triggers the dialogue "This guy looks just like me..." will now only trigger when Turles is at 87.5% health rather than if 70 seconds pass.
- In Story Mission 18 - Mira, Warrior from the Demon Realm, gave Trunks a full roster of skills. Also changed the quest to automatically end after 5 minutes rather than 3 minutes.
- In Story Mission 20 - Revived! A Power Level of 10 Billion, the mission will now end after defeating 50 Metal Coolers rather than 30.
- In Story Mission 31 - The Emperor of Dread Returns, the mission will now end after defeating 30 members of the Frieza Force rather than 15. The dialogue will now play after different triggers to match.
- Applied Proud Mode to Story Missions 39 (Bardock vs. Mira) & 40 (Gohan & Trunks vs. the androids).
Parallel Quests
- Moderate AI increase for the mentor when joining Parallel Quests.
Teacher Quests
- The player is now able to transform and use evasives during teacher quests.
Bug fixes
- Fixed the issue with max level only giving 372 attribute points rather than 375.

- Fixed the bug where Yamcha was allowed to use more than 0.01% of his maximum power.
Version 1.0.3 - Custom Installer (Nov. 16, 2020)
Added a custom installer. There is no need to update if the mod is working fine for you on 1.0.2.
Added a new video to reflect the changes made to the mod thus far.
Version 1.0.2 - AI Balances (Nov. 15, 2020)
General
- Separated the version with the optional music mod and the version without. This is due to the fact that the size of the optional music mod file seems to be causing some download issues. I wouldn't want that impacting people who don't want the optional music mod. Regardless, this should be resolved with the new installer.
AI
- I noticed a few AI weren't performing to expectation despite having high AI numbers. Turns out every character responds to the AI numbers differently. Rather than testing every NPC 300 times, I’m going to change the AI as I’m informed of easy opponents or as I find them.
Leveling
- Added my own leveling mod. Leveling is now slightly more difficult for the first 20 levels and the same thereafter. The first 21 levels will give you 3 attribute points and the remaining will give you 4. This results in the same number of attribute points at max level but gives a more consistent amount per level.
Music
- Fixed the issue where the wrong music played during the first and third demos in Story Mission 1 and during Intermission 3. Fixed the issue where the wrong music played for Android 16’s initial teacher quest.
- A few more music volume adjustments.
Version 1.0.1 - A few quick balances (Nov. 8, 2020)
Balanced the volume of a few music pieces.
Fixed a few typos for the Do or Die System.
Fixed the issue where the ultimate finish wouldn’t trigger if the Do or Die System activated in Story Mission 2.
Buffed Goku’s damage in Story Mission 4. Also fixed the bug where the screen stays white if the Do or Die system is triggered.
Version 1.0.0 - Introduction (Nov. 3, 2020)
This needs to be updated, i get an infinite loading screen after i complete the first story mission, when i try to do an offline quest it wont start it will just freeze in an infinite loading screen. after i relaunch the game, i choose my character and then i get the same infinite loading screen
Report
I found out, that in order to use this mod, you need to have the Legend Patrol pack
Report
Hey I’ve never said before how much I enjoy this mod. thanks for the incredible work you’ve put into it! That being said, I’m now experiencing infinite loading screen in PQs. Should I delete the tpq_data file in the other folders?
Report
This was erroneous on my part, I needed to watch the new cutscene on every character without the mod installed if I wanted to use those character with the mod. Another issue cropped up right after though that seems common — disappearing AI. As others have suggested I will try watching the even newer cutscenes without the mod before proceeding. Seems there are bugs related to the cutscenes and this mod which is really unfortunate because this tech is great 🙁
Report
Do you plan on updating this to 1.19?
Report
To anyone having the following problems with the mod:
– infinite loading
– AI disapearing on missions
– Game crashes in some quests.
These can all be solved and make the mod function as intended by doing one single thing: Buying/Downloading the Legend Patrol Pack DLC.
This mod also changes the missions from the Legend Patrol, and because it has files for those missions, that triggers the DBX1 Cutscene and makes the game thinks you started the Legend Patrol mode. If you Don’t have this pack, then the game will get confused, because it will try to iniciate a mission/cutscene that your game do not have acess to.
You can also try deleting the folders that contain the info of those quests, but I didn’t try that and also don’t know what are the files, it’d be a guessing game :v
I discovered this by one of the comments here saying that this solved the problem for them, but by the time this pack was not a payed DLC I think.
THIS DOS NOT FIXES ALL THE BUGS FROM THE MOD, It just makes it playable. Some minor bugs will still happen.
Report
Welp, time to buy another dlc lol
Report
My game keeps crashing on the main quest. With the prologue (Radiz fight) it worked just fine, but every time I try to continue the quest, the game crash right before starting the mission (after cutscene).
I tried deleting the files that change those missions to be harder and it worked, I played them normally without the mod change, but as soon as the Trunks and XV1 Hero cutscene started, it crashed again.
Not only that, but everytime I open the game with the file tpq_data.qxd, the game stays in an infinite loading screen, even when I’ve already seen the DLC cutscenes (Also, the cutscenes play everytime I delete the file and open the game again).
Any idea how to fix these problems?
Mods i’m using: lazybone’s New Transformations and XV2PATCHER (using the configs “disable turn super form off on cutscenes” and “unlock every character in game”)

hi love the mod
is it possible to do a version that doesn’t lock your item when you have low health? or is there a way I can disable that one specific function?

Hi, I’ve really been wanting to play this as it looks super fun, but everytime I boot it up and get in the lobby, it enters an infinite loading screen that I can only imagine is caused by trying to load one of the cutscenes they added for an update. Is there any way to avoid this so I can play it? I’d really appreciate the help as I’ve been wanting to play this for a while now with friends.

just need to temporarily remove the tpq_data.qxd file and it will load however the story mode is glitch so after u do the raditz mission the cpu dissapear from the map

Hey, i have a question, whenever i enter the game i get a infinite loading screen, and it’s the cutscene where trunks summons shenron to call in the characters from the character vote, now, to fix this i just need to temporarily remove the tpq_data.qxd file, when i do that the game loads in normally as you said on the “Know bugs” section, but everytime i put the file back my game just resets those cutscenes, so that makes it so i can actually get into conton city, do you know how fix this? (And sorry for making a whole paragraph)

I’m wondering the same thing because that’s what happens to me the cutscene triggers each time the file is put back. I don’t know if there’s a way to make the cutscene not play.

I dont get it am i supposed to have legend patrol and the tpq file in or take it out because all i get is either a infinite loading screen or ai leaving. I have no idea wish someone could just make a video since a lot of people are having problems. If anyone can get it to work please tell me everything you have in and dont have.

This mod hasn’t been working for me since the latest update, and I was wondering if there’s any intent to update it again to be compatible with the current patch?
Report
So, not sure if anyone else is having this but at random points in the story like post Cell I just flat out can’t progress anymore like I do the tutorial rift stuff and then just no matter what no Trunks no Elder Kai in the Time Nest for me to talk to and I looked EVERYWHERE for them…
Report
Anyway to remove the All-In system? Thought it would be interesting, but then I got to the Cell Saga mission where you fight the 30 Metal Coolers and remembered just how cheap the AI can get sometimes.
Great mod tho btw, been playing Xeno 2 since it’s beta and this is probably the most fun I’ve had with it so far.
Report
Everything i’ve been searching for in a Story mode mod.. However, the ‘100% learn rate for skills’ kind of turns me off of it, I like earning my skills, not being gifted them 1/1. An option/version where you can disable that specific feature would give this 110/100 in my book. 80/100 as it is.
Report
Hi so I really liked the idea of this mod, making the game into something challenging and to make sense in the fights, but i downloaded it and at first it seemed ok, but when I tried to go to the time nest I got a infinite loading screen, at this point I say no problem this must be in acknowledged in the glitches, and it was, I erase the file and everything seems normal, until I have to fight, all of the AI dissapear, I have currently reinstalled the mod 4 or 5 times and everytome I have to delete that file to be able to go to the Time Nest and afterwards get nothing done cuz the AI wont appear, honestly I dont know if this is a problem that only I have but I personally think that this mod could use some updates and reworks in the case that this problems could be more frequent.

i already posted a potential fix for that until an update rolls in 🙂 just look a few posts above

downloading the legend patrol mod still hasnt fixed the AI disappearing during missions, I’m assuming there’s no other potential fix for this?

Hey man, great mod. finally what I’ve always wanted! difficult enemies that really make you fight for your life. I got a problem though, when I load that Legendary Pack 2 cinematic (the one with Fu, Trunks, and Gogeta) I get stuck in an infinite load screen. I don’t have issues loading PQs, training, or advancement tests but for some reason this one little thing is blockin me from experiencing your dope af mod…
Report
An update on this, the LP2 cinematic isn’t the cause. It’s something to do with entering the time nest. It seems to want to start a cutscene but Idk what. Then I get a black loading screen and hear what sounds to destroyed Namek or that new map.

I actually think it’s more like the cutscene wants to play even though I have already watched it

Just going to confirm what a few other people have reported already, but there’s an issue regarding loading into some Story Missions with this mod installed. It worked for the first mission against Raditz, but trying to load into the second mission against Nappa will result in one of three things with the tpq_data.qsd file deleted. The game will either load infinitely on the first load screen, load past than screen then crash at the second loading screen, or, if it does load into the match, all ai will disappear. With the tpq file not removed, the loading screen to get into the time nest is infinite unfortunately. This seems to be the case regardless of if it’s installed by itself or with other mods like Revamp.
Hopefully it can be fixed. Despite only playing a little of it, I love the difficulty increase where it doesn’t feel like I’m fighting level 1 bots.
Report
I’ve rolled back to version 1.2.1. Please COMPLETELY uninstall the mod before installing 1.2.1. If the infinite loading glitch occurs, delete the file as instructed and watch the new Fu cutscene. Add the file back once the cutscene is over and see if the AI continues to disappear. I’m a few hundred miles away from my computer and can’t edit the mod at my current location.
Report
I just tried a clean reinstall and while deleting the file lets me get past the infinite load screen I then crashed when I tried to start a patrol then adding the file back just makes it load forever again.
Report
Unfortunately, the disappearing ai persists for me, though I do manage to successfully load in. I’ve already viewed the Fu cutscene and have tried restoring the file after loading into the Time Nest to no avail.
Report
Yeah, Same thing is happening to me, and after that I had to to a full mod reinstall because even after restoring the back ups I made they all kept vanishing.

question can you tell me how to install legend patrol if you remember

Damn i really wanted this weekend to be a proud mode playthrough …… well thats life
But i still have proud mode 1.1.2 so basically a much older version and i saw an installer in there
can you make an installer for the next version too?

Attention to everybody….. i might have found a fix for the problem …. it seems to be the legend patrol as RedactedNPC stated he was working on it …. but they removed the files for legend patrol on PC so i recommend you to also download the legend patrol mod…. after i downloaded it everything worked fine for me ….. if you are stuck in infinite loading screen or have disappearing npcs try it out
idk if this is against the rules but i will post this link so you can try it yourself
https://videogamemods.com/xenoverse/mods/legend-patrol/
no im not advertising anything i just tried and it worked
how did i find that?…. pretty easy actually i was stuck in infinite loading screen but…. i heard a sound…. that was pretty familiar it was the sound of the destroyed namek ambient ….. so i figured …. if legend patrol is basically the xv1 story in xv2 then the cutscene at the beginning would have made the same sound because its goku vs freezer at the beginning …… so i searched the internet about legend patrol on pc and i came to the mod site and even there is stated it was taken out so they uploaded it ….. i gave it a whirl and it worked i walked into the time nest and the fight goku vs freezer started ….. and now nothing is disappearing ….. no infinite loading screen nothing …..
THIS MIGHT NOT WORK FOR YOU ITS JUST A POSSIBLE FIX IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE

ok after a bit of testing i found out….. that your all in system which should increase my damage by 25% actually decreases my attack …. i fought freezer and cooler with goku – i did like a 5k combo ….. and after the system activated i did way less dmg …. but i still took the increased damage so this value is correct i guess

I’m having an issue with the infinite loading screen. When I delete the file listed and try to go on Time Patrol the cutscene gets stuck with me unable to enter any inputs and progress. Restoring the file and trying to go on Time Patrol results in the infinite loading screen once more. I tried to go on to the next mission with a save editor but the infinite loading screen returned. Oddly, the new Time Patrol quest (the exhibition tournament one that the robot gives you) didn’t have the cutscene issue while the file was removed.
Report
Try completely uninstalling the mod and watching the cutscene. I’ve also rolled back the mod to the earlier version since that had less issues. Once the cutscene is over and your game has saved, try installing version 1.2.1 and please let me know if problems persist.

Hey, Awesome mod. I’ve been after something like this for years. One question though: Where exactly is the Debug folder located? Im on Story Mission 2 and Nappa has disappeared and Tien and yamcha are swapped out for Frost and Cabba (who insists on flying in circles around me)

UPDATE: Well damn, after using the save editor to get past the currently bugged story mission, when starting the next mission (you and goku vs turles) the ai simply disappears. I can also confirm that the ai reverts back to its normal ‘dumb’ state on parallel quests aswell. I could ‘ve lived without the story missions but without PQ’s it’s a deal breaker for me. Such a shame. If anyone comes across the ‘Debug’ folder mentioned in the description, please let me know. Hopefully this mod gets fixed soon.

The Debug folder was removed a few updates ago and I forgot to remove mention of it from the readme file. Please disregard that part. I’ve rolled the installer back to the older version since that had less issues. Please completely uninstall the mod, watch the cutscene, and then install version 1.2.1. If problems persist, let me know. I’m currently out of town and can’t edit the mod but I’ll look into it when I return.

Just tested it. Afraid to say the problem is now worse. Ai still disappeared and now has caused infinite loading screens. I’m subscribed to you on youtube so please let us know when this is fixed. Cheers buddy!

Would it be possible to make a ‘Lite’ version of this mod? It seems the ‘All in’ system and other changes are what’s causing the issues. (I know nothing about Xv2 modding so take all I say with a pinch)

The infinite loading screen when trying enter the time nest
is cased by the tpq_data.qxd file found in data/quest/tpq
let me know if anyone can fix this file
Report
Thank you for your help. It seems to have some kind of conflict with the new cutscene. That file can be restored after you watch the new cutscene. If there are problems in the future, please leave a comment on the YouTube video as I don’t get notifications from this website.

Will you update this mod? I believe it does not work any longer with the new update, but this mod is awesome and a must have!
Report
The mod has been updated now. The infinite loading screen glitch can be fixed by deleting tpq_data.qxd file within the Data/Quest/TPQ folder. This file is used to increase the amount of experience/money you gain for completing the All In system, so make sure to restore it after watching the new cutscene.
Thanks for playing!

Hey really cool mod! This is exactly what I have been looking for as of late, only there is a bit of an issue on my end. Whenever I try to go into the time nest, regardless of if the story mode is complete, I end up stuck on a loading screen. This might be due to a mod confliction, but I’m not sure what mod could be affecting proud mode since revamp is apparently compatible with this. I have noticed this has been an ongoing issue since the release of the mod so I hope there can be a fix for this. I will try a couple fixes on my end to see the solution, hope to be able to try this mod soon, thanks!

Did you find a way?

Sorry for the late reply. You said this is a chronic issue? Try deleting the tpq_data.qxd file within the Data/Quest/TPQ folder and see if that helps. In the future, if you have a problem, please leave a comment on the YouTube video as I don’t get notifications to comments here.
