Light Grenade as Ultimate

Ever been bothered by how puny the Light Grenade looks in the game? Ever wondered why it was a Super when it was clearly Piccolo's most devastating attack? If so, this is the mod for you. I've converted Light Grenade into an ultimate, heavily increased the damage, changed camera angles, added the blast effect when it hits the opponent and more. Light Grenade now costs 4 ki bars. The move is also chargeable, like a kamehameha: just hold the button and the rest will follow

Disclaimer: there are two known issues with the mod, that I would like to eventually fix. First, the explosion after the Light Grenade hits the target seems to have no fixed direction. The direction along which the explosion is oriented seems random. The second issue is that due to the way the camera angles have been set up, while you can charge the move, it's always better to charge the move fully. Otherwise, you end up with slightly odd camera angles.

2.0 Slight damage increase, making it just slightly less powerful than a 24-hit Perfect Kamehameha. Despiet what I said in the 1.1 update turns out PK is a very strong move, if you get all its hits in. Made the aura effects start earlier to match the anime. Changed the tap charge feature to a proper charging feature. Bonus side effect of that is that the startup animation becomes slightly slower, like in the anime. There are 5 charge stages like in the original move. Made the explosion upon impact larger, like in the anime. Also fixed an issue where if the projectile did hit the target, the ball part of the move would last longer than the explosion, so after impact, there'd be a lingering ghost ball effect for a little while.

1.1:  Move is now available in shops for a 1000 zeni. Slightly increased the damage, so that it does just beyond double the damage. In update 1.0, I'd based the damage around Perfect Kamehameha which is actually pretty weak at long range for a 4 bar ultimate. I've fixed that now.

  1. Alright glad to see this was updated but I do have a couple notes. First, highly recommend Perfect Kamehameha’s SE just because it actually has a charge and fire sound effect that doesn’t linger. Reminds me a bit of BT actually. Secondly, the actual energy sphere appearing and the aura could be a bit better synched as it does look a little janky as it is, nothing too bad it just might flow better if the aura picks up just as/just a smidge before the sphere appears. Great mod though seriously.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, the aura is a little jarring. I left it as is for the moment because I actually wanted to edit the animation a little bit. I wanted to edit the initial start up so that the camera gives a front view like the first time the move was used in the anime. The anime desynchs the aura and the blast appearing, in a charge up style, so I wanted to make something like that. I experimented a little with changing camera angles but that didn’t give anything conclusive. So I’m gonna try and actually edit the skill ean. Only issue is that I don’t know the first thing about that yet. So it probably will take me a while to get it right, but I’ll get there eventually. That’d be the next update, which I wouldn’t expect for a while, but maybe I’ll get lucky.

      Thanks for the sound suggestion, I actually just learnt how to change skill sounds and voices, and I was about to change the sound for this skill to something more appropriate. I’ll look into Perfect Kamehameha’s sound. Will probably get both the animation and the sound in the same update though.
