Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Vocal Tracks as Extra Music Options (29 Music Tracks!)

Hey guys. It’s me, J-Man, bringing you guys another music pack. So, some of you might remember that on April Fools’ Day, I decided to make a music pack with a bunch of randomly assorted meme-related songs. Most of the tracks I included there, I kinda capped at like, a single music track per source material. There was one game that I decided to double-dip on, however, that being a little game called Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, since, to say the least, this game is just a teensy tiny bit more memetic than a lot of other things, totally definitely only a little bit, and it’s music goes especially hard, so I thought it was deserving of getting more than one music track to represent it in that meme pack.

Fun fact, I’ve never actually played that game before I made that music pack. Ever since then though, I ended up actually trying it out, to see what all the fuss was about. I’ve beaten the entire game four times over by now, 1 time each for every difficulty (except for easy mode lol), and safe to say, I now understand why this game is so beloved and has such a dedicated following keeping it alive so long after it’s release. It’s genuinely a really great game. I would also soon find out that literally every single song in this game is an absolute banger, not just the two I included in my meme pack, so, lol you read the title. I felt the need to turn every single vocal track from Metal Gear Rising into extra music tracks for the game, just like my other mods, ripped directly from the official album with custom looping and randomizer options and all, because why not? This music goes unreasonably hard, and I’ve been obsessed with this game and it’s soundtrack lately, so I had to.

There are three separate installers for this mod. 1 includes the vocal tracks for the game (14 tracks plus a random option), 1 includes the instrumental versions of those tracks (15 tracks plus a random option), and the last one includes an extra, all-encompassing randomizer option that randomizes between both the vocal and instrumental versions of the music, so it’s up to you to choose whichever parts of the pack you like. The 3 installers from the original release have been combined into a single installer (I highly recommend uninstalling those previous versions of the pack if you've installed them in the past, before you install this update. The installer will only recognize that one of them needs an update so if you don't do this, you'll end up with duplicates in your game). You can choose between installing all 3 of these portions of the pack in bulks, as well as now being able to pick and choose specific tracks that you’d like in your game the most from the entire selection.

This music pack is a little different from the DB game-based ones I usually make, but this was one I had a lot of fun doing, and I know there are many people in my Xenoverse Discord servers that also like this game and/or it’s soundtrack, so I hope you guys will enjoy this! I’m not entirely sure what my next music mod will be, since I’ve already covered a lot of my biggest priorities, so I’m open to any suggestions or feedback you guys might wanna share with me in the comments or in my Discord DMs. I tend to be checking them even if I don’t go out of my way to reply, so don’t be afraid to do so. For the time being though, take care!

For the record, for anybody that makes character mods, I would love to see an absurdly polished Armstrong, Sam and/or Raiden mod k thx bye.

Some quick, important notes/precautions before installing

  1. The audio cue editor's randomizing feature is a bit quirky. Sometimes, instead of picking a random song to play, the game will just choose to play nothing at all. If this ever happens to you, just go into the pause menu, and into your music options, then keep pressing the "Replay BGM" input until you start to hear music. Re-select the random option from there and the issue should be alleviated.
  2. There is a bit of a cap to how many extra, modded music tracks you can install before the game starts kinda saying no to them. The installer will still tell you the music installed successfully, the tracks will show up as selectable options in-game, and can even be listened to with the "Replay BGM" input in the selection menu, but if you try to select any music track in-game that goes past a limit of 200+ (you may be able to get away with slightly more, but this is the general range I've observed) additional, modded music cues, the game will automatically choose to play one of the vanilla game's tracks instead, so basically, you can't actually play the game with that music. If this sounds like something that just so happens to be happening to you after installing and trying out one of my mods, keep that in mind if you have multiple music installer packs (like my other ones) installed at a time.

My Discord's always open for concerns, questions, feedback, suggestions, or just general chatting, so don't be scared to hit me up if you want to: J-Man#9078

I want to also note here that my DMs are open for anybody. You don't have to send me a friend request to drop a message. I say this because I do tend to get a lot of fairly random friend requests and I would much prefer it if you sent me a message before/along with a friend request since a lot of the time I'm not really 100% sure if I want to accept random friend requests without knowing for sure the context of them. Thanks. :)

Download the .rar file from the MEGA page, then run the mod installer (double click the .exe file while the .installinfo file is in the same file location) from within it. From there, choose from the two options given to either install all 3 portions of the music pack in bulks, or choose specific ones from the selection. If you choose the former, select the portions you'd like to install. If you choose the latter, select the specific music tracks you'd like to install, and you're set!

1.0: Release

1.1: The 3 installers from the original release have been combined into a single installer (I highly recommend uninstalling those previous versions of the pack if you've installed them in the past, before you install this update. The installer will only recognize that one of them needs an update so if you don't do this, you'll end up with duplicates in your game). You can choose between installing all 3 of these portions of the pack in bulks, as well as now being able to pick and choose specific tracks that you’d like in your game the most from the entire selection.

Sorry for the kinda long wait on updating this one lol. I've been doing a ton of work on updating my older mods and also released 2 all new music packs around the same time so I needed a bit of a break. I'm in the modding mood again though! And with this, I'm finally done updating all of my old stuff now (except for my April Fool's meme pack but eh, not in urgent need of updating), so I can put all of my focus into wholly new stuff now! Hope some of you guys appreciate this new update and keep looking forward to whatever I release in the future. Cheers!
