The Three Newbies

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

A Time Patroller team comprised of three Earthlings. Their team is named 'Three Newbies' because they're new (duh) but also because they kind of get into the dumbest situations.

Like right now! Their newest plan is to jump the Hero of Conton City (you)!

 

COCO

Coco is a Time Patroller and the leader of a Time Patrol team with two other Time Patrollers she shares a braincell with. Her main style of fighting is boxing.

Coco is an Earthling who just barely survived the Buu Extinction Event, explained by her gifted physique plus her boxing weaving (remember, chiaotzu and tien were able to dodge the assault rain) barely saved her. The circumstances of her being near-death is what caused her to remember the Buu Genocide — she was in a vegetative state with barely any brain activity (practically dead), and Coco was resurrected into her still comatose state. She woke up from her coma weeks after the wish to erase everyone's memories of Buu was finally finished. One of her deepest regrets is not being able to contribute to the Super Spirit Bomb despite, y'know, being in a fuckin coma. As she was practically braindead, the wish failed to recognize Coco and did not alter her memories.

Despairing at the fact that it seemed that she was the only one that remembered the Buu Genocide, Coco started training super hard in boxing to try to alleviate her existential anxiety and to prepare herself if the world would come to an end again. Coco finds a Time Patrol advertisement one day, and joins the Time Patrol to both fulfill her desire to protect the world and find the truth of the Buu Genocide.

As the leader of her team, Coco is confident, brave, and friendly. Has a bit of a ki-blast complex though, and can accidentally slip into talking about conspiracy theories if you let her.

COCO MOVELIST:

Like Mike Tyson Jumpscaring You In A Haunted House: Versus Mode only. Comes equipped with special AI. Dashing and weaving close combat specialist.

• "...with his fists clenched and ready to fight. Like, it's scary, but not in the 'spooky ghost' type of scary, but 'you're gonna get KO'd into next month' scary." -Ayaha

Bad Intentions: Heavy Attack 1-5 cannot be charged, but always has the property of 100% charge instead. Light Attack 5 breaks guard.

• "TASTE THESE IMPACT FRAMES MF" -Coco catching you press the Block button for a literal nanosecond

Impetuous Style: Certain Heavy Attack strings are unvanishable.

Plot Arms, Not Plot Armor: All of her normal attack strings bypass super armor. Call her if you see some bullshit in PQs, or get trolled if you have one of those super armor Super Souls!

• "When I punch gods, they flinch. Hold on- wait. Too dramatic. Plus I've never really punched gods before. Hmm..." -Coco

Impregnable Defense: Coco's dashes have i-frames, has overall faster dashes, and can dash while being attacked (you better thank god the AI does not use this last part often).

• "Wow. Coco is just dashing all over the place. This is unfair. Then again, I guess PTSD from dodging the original Assault Rain is pretty powerful in it's own right." -Nera

Resolute Counter: When attacked, press Ki Blast to retaliate with a counter punch.

COCO UNIQUE SUPERS:

Iron Straight: Weave twice with i-frames then punch the body. Can follow up with supers, dash, or attack.

COCO UNIQUE ULTIMATES:

Way of Heaven: Unleash an energy wave around you, then slam into the enemy with God's Right Wing!

NERA

Nera is a Time Patroller and member of a Time Patrol team with two other Time Patrollers she shares a braincell with. Her main style of fighting is a self-taught style made from all sorts of styles. Includes muay thai, breakdancing, and Frost Demon arts.

Nera is an Earthling whose sole purpose for joining the Time Patrol is to 'become the strongest'. There's something to be said about Nera still pursuing that goal even after she learned about power levels (and how Earthlings don't get a lot of it). Still, there's sadly not much to say about Nera herself other than a 'completely generic street fighter backstory' as remarked by her teammates. Selfish and kind of a douche. Good contender for the 'Most Likely To Betray The Time Patrol' award, which is quite worrying when you realize she's still new to the Time Patrol. Still hasn't for some reason.

MOVELIST:

The Asura Who Seeks Power: Versus Mode only. Comes equipped with special AI. Smug Just Guard maniac that pokes your eyes, waits for your input, and does skills when you least want her to.

• "You know an asura that seeks power is redundant, right?"
• "shut up"

Smug Just Guard Maniac(TM): Just Guard window is extended by about 5-6 frames.

Endurance Training: Stamina recovery is boosted.

The Low Kick: Light 1-4 > Heavy x2. Locks opponent into a funny ThrowHandler, leaving them vulnerable.

• "I think she enjoys watching her opponent's knee blast out of its socket. Might be just me, though." -Ayaha, seeing Nera spam LHH like 3 times in a row

Dirty Fighting: Light 1. Heavy 4. Eye poke. If it lands, deals no health damage but deals 1 bar of ki damage and blinds the opponent.

• "Oh no, she definitely likes causing unnecessary damage. Good lord, did it have to be Light 1?" -Coco

SUPER SKILLS

Heat Haze Quickdraw: A singular Death Beam. Comes out quick and only costs 50 ki, like an offshoot of Dodon Ray.

NOTES:

You'll notice she has the same name as someone from Dragon Quest. this is not intentional and is merely a coincidence (rip toriyama)

AYAHA

Ayaha is a Time Patroller and member of a Time Patrol team with two other Time Patrollers she shares a braincell with. Her main style of fighting is pro-wrestling.

Ayaha is an Earthling who really likes wrestling! She has a strong sense of justice and joined the Time Patrol after seeing an ad, thinking it was some weird cosplay larp club. It was not. Nevertheless, she liked the place enough to stay, especially after learning that she had an aptitude for ki. Has stated on record that her special power is to grow stronger when she gets hype. She's also stated that she can sometimes hear WWE announcers in her head.

MOVELIST:

Here Comes The Pain: Versus Mode only. Comes equipped with special AI. Punishes reckless vanishing but is actually kinda the weakest of the three lmao

Conton Rattlesnake: Replaces Grab. Does slightly more damage than usual grabs and can combo after.

The People's Rush: Heavy Combo 1-5. A flurry of punches that lead into an uranage!

• "Ayaha what the fuck was that I heard Michael Cole, are you infecting me with something" -Nera

Totally Generic Chop: Replaces Light 1-4 > Heavy 2. A grab that can combo after.

NOTES:

me approx a year ago: haha ThrowHandler is easy

me now: holy shit ThrowHandler got hands

which is why ayaha only has 3 grabs and johann unironically had 21 different grabs wtf

idk i was built different a year ago i can't throw hands with ThrowHandler anymore

KNOWN ISSUES:

when in team battles, when a partner goes down sometimes their targetting glitches out. although i'm pretty sure this is a common AI problem, because AI modding is black magic

if you're running Levi's Cross Versus AI mod, make sure it's at the latest version (1.2 as of posting)! The custom Versus AI won't work on versions 1.1 or below!

Considering this mod uses Festival AI, it's safe to assume that this doesn't work on older versions of Xenoverse 2

hello i am totally new and innocent modder it's nice to meet you and all that

time has tempered my controversial bs and improved my overall wellbeing (please disregard any older mods that may have suggested an unhealthy state of mind... besides, you didnt really think THAT was my self insert, right? that's way too crazy even for me)

this means i SHOULD be making less outlandish stuff in the future; that is, if this isn't a one-time thing as I reeallly wanted to tie up loose ends (i promised coco's teammates like before i left but never delivered, AND coco was in a buggy state, and it's haunted me ever since)

actually this mod doubles as a cry for help for the tool dev/s to fix the .bai serializer

honestly? i kinda wanted to make a quest mod where you'd have to fight all three of them at once with no partners

complete with dialogue of them wanting to beat the hero of conton city which in itself is just also clever commentary on how it's about time for (the xenoverse 2 protag) to pass the mantle of hero onto the next generation (aka GO TO XENOVERSE 3 DIMPS GRAAAAAAAAAAAA)

then i went 1v3 with them in versus mode and went 'oh shit this isn't fair at all they're like the nutz gang except WORSE' so ig they're just there stewing in versus mode for a fight

but for real if you want the full experience: go 1v3 the noobs in versus mode, preferably with a recording device so i can see how other people deal with them :D
