Support for mod skills/items/characters:
Any installed skill, character and quest mods are automatically supported by the editor, so long as the game directory has been set correctly (If it never asks for the directory then that just means the editor found it by itself). Name lists will be generated on the fly by reading the games files.
If the game directory was never set for some reason then the editor will default to using backups provided with the tool (in “SaveEditor/data”). Going this route will mean all mod skills/characters/quests will appear as “Unknown...”.
FAQ:
Q: Why isn't costume X or skill Y included? Can you update it?
A: No skill, costume, quest or anything else is included. I do not make lists of this stuff for it to appear in this save editor. Instead, the editor just loads all of this information directly from the game (which is why it might ask you set the game directory, if it didn't auto-detect it by itself, and why it has a short “Initializing” phase upon start up).
So with this in mind.. if there are missing items for you, then it can be because of the following reasons:
- You have a mod installation containing data from a previous game version which did not have these items. Solution: nuke the whole mod data folder (you CANNOT use this mod installation on the new version of the game because of this EXACT issue, so there is literally no reason to keep it).
- You did not set the game directory when first running the save editor (selected Skip) and are using an outdated version of the save editor. Solution: Get or wait for a new version, or go into the settings and set the game directory.
- Another possibility for skills specifically is that you have not loaded into the game at least once since installing the update or mod(?), and thus the skill ID was never added into the save file. In this case the skill just won't appear in the list at all. Solution: just load the game once and save. In the future, an option may be added to manually add skills to the list.

The save editor requires .NET Framework 4.7 to be installed. You can find it here.
The save file can be found in “Steam//userdata//{your steam id}//323470//remote//DBXV21” for version 1.17+ or “Steam//userdata//{your steam id}//323470//remote//DBXV2” for earlier versions.
Just load the .sav file directly with the editor. No need for any decryption tool.

This has been corrupting my save, it makes the loading screens always cause a crash, I even uninstalled all mods, freshly installed everything and now it always does it. It occured when I was just adding items, I am not sure what causes this bug to happen as before I thought it was clicking on the quests but when I reverted back to a save backup then it was working fine then it occurred when I added battle items Zen Oh buttons, so I am not sure what is causing it to mess with the save, I even turned off artwork to rule that out too.
Report
I figured it out. It was battle items messing with it for some reason. Just make it blank and manually add it in the game and it will work fine. I was messing with it to be able to equip 2 Zen Oh buttons and it was working for a bit but then it messed the save, but thankfully it is easy to fix without even having to back the save up, just make sure battle items are empty in the save editor and manually put it back in the game! Amazing tool! Thanks for updating it again! 😀

QUESTION: Can we unlock the festival variants of the characters now? Because as far as I know, this save editor doesn’t have a “Character Unlocker” because you unlock the characters completing the Time Patrol and PQs, but to unlock the festival variants, you have to complete the festival quests, are the quests in the save editor like it happens with the Frieza Siege Event? Or are we locked out of it?

Is it possible to have each attribute maxed out without it bugging? when i try to it just resets my stats as if i didnt put any points, if its not possible to max each attribute can you make it possible?
Report
so if you max a cac who is not the main one as in the one you login you can and they won’t reset also I do believe the only reason they reset is if you try to use them like that without the patcher installed. but I don’t recommend doing this with randoms online cuz they could report you as a modder but if you just want to play an op run solo or are playing with friends who don’t mind then have fun hope this helps.

thank you for the update mate!

Question: I haven’t tried it yet, cuz I don’t want to accidentally break my game, but can you have multiple sets of Dragon Balls? Like, having 2-3 to 99 copies of the DBs 1-7, to get multiple Shenron Wishes one after another, or do you have to exit the game manually and give yourself another set each time?
Report
you can give your self multiples but it just resets back to one of each once you start playing so just use them then give them back to you after you close the game

Hello, I’m fairly new to the modding community and I was wondering if I can get some help? I installed this mod and decided to test it out on a test cac, but every time I open that cac the game crashes on itself. I don’t know if I did something wrong or something.

you mean the one under Steam/userdata? But that’s not the correct file/format, or do you mean another one?

Found it, the one under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(youruserID)\323470\remote\DBXV21, called DBXV2.sav (not DBXV.sav), thats for XV1 (if you own that).
Can confirm that the editor works
